I just got a good look at the remaining egg and it is in the process of hatching. I could see a hole at the end of the egg :)

Yes, I saw it too!  ;D

Just got back from a Portage Avenue run and was delighted to see one of the adults floating up to the nest box. I don't know who it was as I only had my naked eye to depend on. About a minute later he/she flew out and did some slow circles disappearing behind the Hydro Building. Beautiful to watch.

Lucky you, bcf, I hope to get to Wpg before too long so that I can see them "in person"   :)  .....or "in bird", I guess I should say. LOL

So I would venture that by the morning, tomorrow morning, we will have a fourth chick for sure.

2037 hrs

Feeding time again.  Ivy is slowly getting the hang of things, he turned up with the food and tried to offer the whole thing to the chicks and of course got no takers.

I saw that and thought "Silly Dad" they can't eat that big chunk of food.  ::) ;D

Feeding time again.  Ivy is slowly getting the hang of things, he turned up with the food and tried ot offer the whole thing to the chicks and of course got no takers.  Now he's giving it to them in small bits.  We still have one egg there in the middle.  The chicks are now chatting with one another and seem about to fall asleep in a pile.

Ivy is on the box edge looking out.  Princess must be off getting some food of her own.

And now our boy is back in the box and the chicks are under him and he's calling for Princess ....

Do those poor chicks get bruised from being shuggled along with the egg?

No, looks worse to us, seems kind of rough but it isn't.  The adults have their wings on either side so its like getting moved in a big hug.

Ivy just left a snack, Princess was chupping at him and hasn't touched it.

Princess is still incubating the last egg ... the "egg" you can see against the far wall is actually eggshell from one of the earlier chicks.

Happy the egg is still there.  Sure hope it hatches soon, so the wee little one won't be so far behind his/her siblings.

Thanks for the info, tpc. I haven't managed to get a good look since I came home from work.
