The Peregrine Chick:
1341h
Beatrix is still at the nestbox, or rather lying down in the back of the nestbox in the shade like she did before she fledged. I have a sneaking suspiciion that the boys have started to fend for themselves at this point and she's not quite there yet so she's hanging out here where she knows her parents can supplement her meals. The boys are probably heading off on their own now and she's been left behind. But it won't be for long, in another week, she'll be off too I suspect.
For a moment I thought there were two chicks in there :o, but no, the other "chick" is actually a huge pile of prey remains in the corner nearest the inside box cam. Not looking forward to cleaning out that corner ::)

Its windy and there's a bit of rain in downtown Winnipeg and Beatrix is sitting on the north edge of the nestbox ... the wind is alot stronger up high, she's having a bit of trouble finding a comfortable spot

Ah...breakfast in bed is such a treat!
Saoirse:
Wow, that's a relatively lazy start to the day for Beatrix -- good to know she was safe and sound "at home" for the night, though.
The Peregrine Chick:
Beatrix was the chick who came home last night, though someone else came to visit briefly (a minute or two) just after 0230h.
She was still at the box at 0550h when one of the adults flew by and dropped off food - Ivy I think by the size - she took it off down the ledge to eat it, then came back to the box for a sit and a preen then was off for the day by 0605h.
