msdolittle:
i did see 1 peregrine flying over the hydro building this morning.  Quiet .. no yacking, but a peregrine.  Looked like it may have landed on the west side of the building.

The Peregrine Chick:
We are already getting sightings of peregrines at hawk migration sites in the US (Maine, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas) about the same number as last year by this point.  First sighting in Mexico (so definitely going south) was on August 27th.  From the current numbers can't tell if its going to be an early autumn but our birds were visible downtown for longer last year as I recall, so perhaps we will start to see migrating peregrine numbers increase in the next couple of weeks.  May also mean that we start the countdown timer a little earlier than last year ...

birdnut:
I spent about 2 hours downtown on Carlton in  full view of the nestbox and the Manitoba Hydro building last night.  Not a PF to been seen.  The sure sign they were not about - pigeons galore sitting on the old smoke stack by the CTV building without a care in the world.

Cooper:
Saturday, August 20, probably around noon, adult (by size I guessing Princess) observed hunting/ cruising the river just northeast of Union Station. Nice to see.

Saoirse:
Great to have the forum back and running! Thanks, TPC!

I've been downtown a couple of times over the past week and haven't seen so much as a feather of the falcons. So it's great to hear that TPC's seen Ivy around.
