BOT - Saw a birdie sitting on the 'S' of the Radisson sign just before noon - then took off soaring & flapping, soaring & flapping. More flapping than I thought Peregrines usually did, so maybe a kiddie practicing some skills... ???

Curiousity (and lunchbreak boredom! ::)) found me digging through the posts from last year. Found the one where Tracy referred to Isis as (and I quote) "Isis, the murderous little witch". LOL. Got the story. Let's hope Carson is a bit more well behaved...

;) Saoirose is correct on the falcon I refer to, Leana. msdolittle and bccs can explain what happened better than I. Isis aka renamed as Kali fledged into traffic on Portage Ave. bccs and msdolittle came to her rescue with a box. They were able to put her into the box without incident because she was stunned by her mishap. However when TPC reached into the box to transfer her to a carrier and take her to be checked out, she was no longer stunned and Isis/Kali chomped down on TPC's thumb. Ouch. major pain. :o Ladies, am I close?

Leana, I don't remember thumbs specifically, but I do remember that Isis was more than a little cantankerous when she was re-released back into the nestbox (that's when TPC added Kali to her name!). Dangerous as those talons and beaks are at banding time, they're even worse by fledgling stage, I think.

I keep checking the Radisson cam in hopes of seeing Carson appear. Conditions are perfect (in my uneducated opinion ::)) for his return. Beautiful temps and next to no wind... I do wonder about the above post regarding thumbs being tucked in... What happened last year? Don't think I was following at that time. :-\
OK, just rechecked the weather and the winds have picked up a bit... hope they don't get any stronger... :-\
