Actually, its taken more convincing than that ... imagine a chick sitting (literally) on the median in the middle of Portage Avenue with a sun hat, SPF, water bottle, lunch, bird guide, field glasses, camera and spotting scope. Been there, done that ... a few times ... 8)
The Peregrine Chick:
I, Dennis (PhotosbyDennis) and Larry (Eye-Spy) have hinted about my being "up to something" over the last few days ... and I was, along with Dennis and Larry though they will probably downplay their involvement. And yes, I will be tell you all about it on the blog but I want to wait until I hear back from the other player in this piece, so that I know how it ends. Knowing y'all as I have come to, you will definitely want to know how it all ended!!
But am I going to start the tale here and now, no, this is another teaser, but I should start posting to the blog tonight, so its only a little, short teaser ;D
I know you will have questions once I start my tale, so here is the place to ask them, that way I don't lose them on other threads.
Only need to hold your breath for a little while longer ...
The Chick
The Peregrine Chick:
Bad news is, no renesting this year for Princess and Trey.
Good news is that they are still around the Hotel daily, though not on any regular schedule that I have been able to gauge. Princess is hanging out on the telecommunication towers alot these days, or at least when the winds are tornadic like they were from time to time earlier this week. Trey still loves the ledge and the east-side Radisson sign. Haven't seen them near the nestbox for the last few days, but they may hang out there more in the mornings when it gets warmer (west in shade in the mornings) before shifting over to the east side in the afternoons. They have done this in the past.
Better, but long-term news is that Princess and Trey will have spent an extra two months replenishing their personal reserves which will help them get through migration, overwintering and have them in better shape next year when they return than they usually are. Yes, that is nine months away, but still ...
