The Peregrine Chick:
Oh its just not fair when you have horses rather than the zebras you want ....

(for those of you too young to know the saying it goes like this ... "if you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras")

The two birds turned out to be pigeons ... fat, smug, taking-advantage-of-our-peregrines'-nestbox, ought-to-be-lunch-with-a-side-order-of-fries, pigeons.

...  :'(  I wanted zebras .....

The Peregrine Chick:
Just spoke with Mother Hen and she reports two birds sitting on the west side of the Hotel.  I've asked her to confirm they are the adults as the juveniles from across Canada are starting to move in advance of migration ....

Will keep you informed ... and Mother Hen will probably touch base yet too today ...

The Peregrine Chick

The Peregrine Chick:
Was driving back past the Radisson's west side about 9:30 am this morning and saw a bird perched on the nestbox.  Dark back so probably one of the adults facing inwards.

Mother Hen - can you see anything out your window? (if you aren't on holidays enjoying the weather of course) *TPC makes note to check when MH was last online*

I haven't been on the roof since July, guess I should go have a wee peak ....  :-\

Liz:
Lucky you, allikat!  I am SO envious.   :D

Hi All,

I haven't been online in awhile but have still read a lot of the posts as a "guest".  Just wanted to comment that I saw Princess last week (Wednesday Aug.6th) in a residential area hunting for food!  It was in Norwood Flats area where I was visiting at approx. 6:30pm and she made her presence known about 15 feet over our heads (thinking she just missed her target little bird) as we were sitting outside enjoying a glass of wine noticing quite a few alarm calls from every bird in the area!  Well, I knew it was Princess right away as she flew over (due to her markings), so I quickly ran out and watched where she landed.  She landed at the highest point on a maple tree searching for her supper!  It was an awesome sight!  Needless to say, all the other birds did not like her being there!  She quickly flew up and started circling in the sky, going south toward the river with the wind!  She is a beauty!  I was also told yesterday that Princess was spotted again in the Norwood Flats area by the same group of people I was with on Wednesday!

As for Trey, I thought I saw him on the East side nest ledge the other morning!!  However, I was driving and didn't get a close look, but it looked like him!  Good to know that they are still in their territory!
