Actually, that was brought up as we stood on the street corner - a few were already talking about a get-together for the 'After 5' crowd!!  :P

I don't know what the traffic cam means?

TV and radio stations use webcams located all around the City to monitor the traffic flow during the rush hours - morning and evening.  They can manipulate the camera to look at different locations.  During the peregrine season, I use the camera as well to spy on the peregrines at the Radisson.  Sometimes we are each tugging on the camera - they want to see the Provencher Bridge, I want to see the letter R on the Radisson sign!!

The Peregrine Chick:
CTV news contacted me  yesterday for an update on the peregrines and whether or not they will renest.  I told them no, it was too late barring a freak event.  Also gave them an update on the other 4 Manitoba females and the Brandon Birds.  Also told them about the meeting of the "Phanatics on Portage" today - so you could all have ended upon the news tonight!!  'Fraid that didn't happen, but they are running a short piece with photos from Black Friday.

It will be on TV at 6:10 pm (approximately) on CTV Local News @ 6.  It is also already posted on their website at CTV Winnipeg.  I assume the online piece is the same as the tv piece will be ...

 :)
Sounds like you all had a nice visit.

If you ever decide to do this again after work I will make it for that get together.

Maybe next time we will get to see P & T.

Thanks for the update of the visit.

sami:
It was really great seeing where the nest ledge and box were sited - in the few times that I drive downtown, I've had to watch traffic instead of looking up (unlike this morning while driving down a country road I was going full speed ahead while looking waaay up at a pair of pelicans - good thing I had the road to myself). Thanks for the info Tracy. It was enjoyable meeting you and some of the phanatics. And you didn't hear from me earlier cause I had to race out and cut the grass!
