When we band the chicks, it will just be banding unless there is something unusual or dangerous on the ledge. There is what looks to me like a leg with a leg band on it, but I'm not sure if it isn't just the way the light shines on it. My curiosity has been killing me and if its still there when I go, I'll be snagging that for sure. Its right along the front wall, top right-hand quadrant of the image if you are looking for it. If there is something that we think might be dangerous to the chicks, I'll see if I can't take care of it while I'm there. That is where this camera is invaluable as a recovery tool, I can watch how the birds are interacting with their environment, in this case the nestledge. Whatever we do/don't do, we need to keep our time on the ledge as short as possible, but since this will be the only time we get up to the nest, we have to do whatever we need to.
