Feeding with strips of raw meat going on right now.  Oops Princess is back on the ledge - now she is gone, but Trey is around (he was in the picture earlier).  Now it's the 3 fluff balls.

Finally I get to post again, was having trouble getting to the page yesterday , maybe I posted too much lol

I see the sun is shining out in Winnipeg. Not sure who is chicksitting, looks like it might be Princess shielding the little ones from the sun.

Good morning to you too skygirl!
I think its Princess still on the chicks since I think I can see some lighter coloured feathers on her head. She's so cute with her head tucked into her wing like that.  ;D Catching a little nap before the next feeding I guess!

Darn...I missed the feeding.  I am getting ready for work and was away from the computer.  Guess I will have to wait until I get home now.  Last year we could view the web cam at work, but this year we can't.  Not sure if we do not have the lasted version downloaded there or if the IT department did something.
Well everyone have a good day and enjoy watching P & T and the chicks.  I can view the forum so I will be checking in there a few times today.

Morning! It's 8:08amAST and its feeding time! Not sure who is dishing out breakfast this morning since all I can see is tailfeathers and half of a white fluff ball eagerly chowing down but my first guess would be that it is Princess.
Darn, feeding is over and the chicks are all tucked away. Must be camera shy today, still not facing the camera.

Good morning All,

Looks very quiet in the nest box so far this morning.  I think it is a little cool out there and chicks are all covered up.

Hi, Moonstar.  If you check on the Home page under "Project Updates", then "other peregrine cams" and click on Minnesota - Elk River, you'll see The Peregrine Chick's thoughts on that subject.  We've noticed that although the egg is still there, the mum isn't incubating it anymore.  So I don't think it will hatch, and eventually the parents will remove it.  That's too bad  :'(, but they seem to have three healthy babies, and that's good!  :)

I have a question but it is not related to Princess and Trey.  I hope you all do not mind me asking it here.
I was checking out the webcam in Minnesota and noticed that the egg is still there with the 3 chicks.  Is it possible that the egg will still hatch?  If not, then do you have any idea why one of the adult birds has not removed it.?  I saw a feeding there and one of the chicks was quite aggressive he/she was actually kind of pushing on of the chicks away with his/her beak.  But eventually the little guy did get up front in the middle and got food.

Now about our Precious family.  I finally saw a feeding late this afternoon.  I could only see the chicks off and on through the feeding but it was still great to see.  I did notice how much they have grown and how they are getting much stronger.  It will be so nice to watch them once Trey and Princess do not have to sit on them as much.

Hmm.  What I was looking at is gone, but I can't tell what you're looking at either.  All I see is pooped smeared on the wall.

Is it the thing that right now looks like it's sticking out from under Princess's right wing?

No, when last I saw it, it was right against the black retaining wall, directly to the right of Princess' head at the moment.

When we band the chicks, it will just be banding unless there is something unusual or dangerous on the ledge.  There is what looks to me like a leg with a leg band on it, but I'm not sure if it isn't just the way the light shines on it.  My curiosity has been killing me and if its still there when I go, I'll be snagging that for sure.  Its right along the front wall, top right-hand quadrant of the image if you are looking for it.  If there is something that we think might be dangerous to the chicks, I'll see if I can't take care of it while I'm there.  That is where this camera is invaluable as a recovery tool, I can watch how the birds are interacting with their environment, in this case the nestledge.  Whatever we do/don't do, we need to keep our time on the ledge as short as possible, but since this will be the only time we get up to the nest, we have to do whatever we need to.

;D LOL  ;D -Tracy just wondering - when you do take the chicks to band them, do you leave the nest 'as is' or does somebody do a little cleanup, ie remove the blood, bones & other assorted icky stuff that accumulates and put some new gravel maybe.  ??? Or am I being a fusspot like Trey?  ;D
