wow Mom came in and told Trey to get lost he quickly exited at the bottom of the screen. It seemed like he didn't want to leave either.

that's the longest I've seen the kids without a parent on them, 4 minutes.  I guess that time will stretch further and further as the kids grow.

Neither parent is in view of the camera and the kids have been by themselves for a couple of minutes

Looks like the wind is picking up again.  I think it's Princess keeping the kids warm even though I can see a little bit of white fluff sticking out.

The earlier 2 hatchlings seem to be crowding out the smaller guy at the back during snack time.  I hope Princess catches on.

Yay I got back just in time to see another feeding! Still looking at Trey's behind but at least I can see two of the chicks when he moves his head. Tracy is right, these little guys are too cute. Hard to believe how fast they grow!

I have one real problem watching the falcons - relating them to their actual size.   ::)

Would it be possible at some point to sneak a one foot ruler or something like that into the "edge" of the picture frame, without disturbing the birds?

I've seen the pin feather picture of T2, being held, and that was my first realization of exactly how big these guys (and gals) really are.

There really isn't, I'm afraid, or at least not one we have been able to devise that would be effective or safe.  As you will have seen, this ledge is very exposed to the weather and all manner of things come loose/fly around in the wind.  Since the ledge is not accessible, we can't do maintenance or repair anything from year to year.  When we are banding the chicks, we have to limit our time to only what is necessary, so doing maintenance etc at that time is not an option.  I have been trying to figure out if there is a way that I can get a measure on the vent cover (on the right hand edge of the image) and have that in the photo gallery as a reference.  I don't know there is another one of these vents anywhere at the hotel, but I'll see if I can find out and get a photo with a measure on it.
