Oh Deedream! LOL! Thanks, I needed that! ;D
Your post twigged my memory and I just had a quick look and the post you're talking about is further along in Radisson Peregrines and is called Not a Great Nest Location??
P and T have alternated since 2005 it seems, so maybe they'll alternate now, if they're not tied into "one season here, one season there."
Still hoping they nest again, wherever they choose...

Hi all,
I see I'm not the only one still trying to digest what's happened and what could happen from here. I really appreciate being able to read and respond with you all in this forum. I'm finding that a lot of what I thinking or feeling is already posted and reiterated by other members. Very comforting, in it's way! What a little community we've created. Have 3 peregrine chicks and their parents ever been so loved and missed?!
As I'm in BC time, my waiting for news yesterday was rewarded in the evening with Tracy's wonderful blog. I'd been hoping all day that she would see Trey and Princess. It was such a relief that she did and so poignant that Trey arrived, scraped, and that Princess was nearby, that it brought tears to my eyes and hope to my heart. Seeing all that yesterday, when it was so needed, couldn't have happened at a better time -- almost like it was meant for The Peregrine Chick! (rather sentimental, I know, but it's hard to deny they have a connection, tangible or not!)
I hope the scraping is a positive sign that Trey and Princess may just have the resources to give it another go, and not Trey's way of trying to 'grieve' or make sense of what he's lost. Leaning on the side of optimism, let's hope he and Princess know what a lovely prepared nestbox is waiting for them and if the ledge is the spot, then we'll all be cheering them on with hope in our hearts and awe at their resilience.
Whatever Trey and Princess 'decide' to do, my thoughts and heart are with them, my fingers and toes are crossed with all of you, and my thanks and admiration for Tracy and all that she does goes out to her.
And of course, continued thanks to all involved in Friday's efforts, as well as Larry and other volunteers, and CBC and Shaw. If Trey and Princess do have another clutch this season, I bet our bandwidth needs might increase!!! :)
Thanks for the 'community' everyone!

hey guys, well correct me if I am mistaken, but didn't Tracy say somewheres that, Trey and Princess nested here on this very ledge in 2006?? and one died when fledging, (too close to ground this site is) and that they came back last year to the nice nest box on the 30 floor! She was so frustrated at them for choosing this site as it is so high risk (because of height in addition to no protection at all from the elements). Yet they did not want to interfere, well what were they going to do exactly, go climb up and move the eggs, then what, maybe Trey and Princess would abanden them.......... she explained it quite well somewheres. sorry I can't think where. It seems that I am learning that they just have to leave things alone as much as possible. She has joked about how she was mad at them for choosing this ledge again. Also they talked about it, and did not want to improve this site for them even after the 2006 nesting here, because,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, it was too darn close to the ground, way too low, too much risk for the birds to perious when fledlging and to fix it up and improve it would only encourage them to nest there. They (hoped) crossed fingers toes everything, that they would NOT choose this site! But alas they did. Darn it all birds gonna do what a birds gonna do. So they didn't learn from before. Yet last year they chose the nest box. I thought well, maybe the birds know better than us. The nest box is on the west side. Maybe it is going to be so darn hot this summer that they figured , lets try the east side again! I dont know. lol. How I read Tracys blog yesterday was that Trey was in fact back at this exact same ledge yesterday, scraping, and doing his mating thing. I assumed that meant.........he was ready to mate again, and that this would be the nesting site again...... Man I hope i am wrong! But like you guys, curious as heck now! Hope she can enlighten us about this. Finally I really do think its all up to Princess dont you guys? We all know who wears the pants in that family, we seen it up close and personal. :)Thanks.

I was wondering the same thing Marie!! - Are they able to 'learn' from past events, would instinct tell them NOT to go back there (I hope!!) - or would they just start over again on that same familiar ground. (I hope not!!) :'(
Marie:
with regards to P &T mating again......just wondering how much the trauma of losing the chicks would affect them and would they go to the nest instead of the ledge....Would the tendency be NOT to go to the ledge because of what happened...not trying to humanize the birds...just wondering about that with my very limited knowledge of falcons.
Forever hopeful
Marie
