Radisson - 2008 / Trey & Princess
Pam:
A beautiful day, but again no sightings of either Princess or Trey today from our vantage point!
The Peregrine Chick:
--- Quote from: Donna on June 16, 2008, 18:05 ---Was just wondering, if P & T do nest again (and I said if :) ) , would if be normal for them to lay 3 to 4 eggs again, or would the number drop to 1 or 2 ?
--- End quote ---
If Trey and Princess re-nest, it will probably be 1-2 eggs but they might not all hatch out. They have used so much of the energy reserves already on their first clutch, they really just do not have enough for a second full nest and the viability of the eggs is less as well. If they do renest, and they sit past about three weeks, then you can pretty sure that something will hatch. Usually the birds know if there is a problem with an egg and they will either remove it (like they did this year) or they will just ignore it (like the Elk River birds).
Mother Hen:
