Different sites, different rules. The Radisson has alot more places for the chicks to go play on, not so many in West Winnipeg and the West Winnipeg site has alot more space for the chicks to do all sorts of things - practice jumping up/down, flying, landings/take-offs, etc. Probably why the chicks come back to hang out near the box, just a really nice place to hang-out. Their parents visit the spot all through the breeding season, one of the reasons we put the nestbox there.
