West Winnipeg - 2010 / Beau & Jules
The Peregrine Chick:
Spoke with Dennis a bit earlier and he was passing by the West Winnipeg site and no sign of Jules. I didn't see her either this morning or yesterday morning on my way to work. Could be that she is taking a little extra time to go hunting during the day or going further afield to hunt as she doesn't have a "man" waiting for her back on territory.
Do I think she is leaving? No. Just that she's off somewhere hunting or whatever. Without a male she's not in find a nest, lay some eggs mode, but its still her territory and she's been there for two years, so no reason to immediately assume that because Ivy has been downtown for a week that she will be looking for greener pastures already ....
Kinderchick:
Poor Jules... Waiting and waiting for her Ivy! ::)
Ellie:
Absolutely correct! ;D
moka:
And lest we forget, Ivy is hardwired too. He's even imitating his great Trey genes. Remember Madame! :-[
Poor birds, probably the only thing in their heads is, empty stomach - hunt, yen to build a scrape - search...
Now if only his higness would remember his way home, we could settle down and wait for the next crisis.
carly:
I agree TPC, most sites have falcons they never knew growing up so it's kind of exciting and unique that this one has stayed in the family so far. Just another way of looking at it :-*
I know how you feel bccs, I cursed Jack daily for months ...lol..but at the end of the day he's hard wired to reproduce and not much I can do about that..lol ;)
