Radisson - 2009 / Trey & Princess
The Peregrine Chick:
1745 hrs (local) - Princess has spun around and has her tail in the corner which is helping to keep the tailfeathers from getting caught. Couple of not so close calls, but made me think she might get tossed off the eggs, but no, she's got it worked out. Her head is in the gravel again, napping. Haven't seen hide nor feather of Trey but unless she's will to get off, he's on standby. Will see if he takes over the night duties or if he just relieves Princess long enough for her to eat.
All is well if a little breezy on the ledge however. The wind is slated to shift from the NNE (currently) to NW this evening, then drop down to light-ish for the next 24/36 hours which should give our adults a break. Keep your fingers crossed that Environment Canada is right!

This weather is simply stupid and rude. I have no more to say :-X :-X

OMG we have driving snow from the north!

I haven't seen her get caught or pushed or flipped by the wind at all this year, she stays low, close to the wall or broadside and though she gets fluffed, he doesn't seem to be tossed around like last year.

As cute/funny as it was to see the tailfeathers-over-crown happening last year, I really am glad she's got it figured out. Hope Trey listens to her when she's telling him how to do it! 8)
Elaine L:
It is really bad down in Minnesota at Elk River, too. Best of luck to all our peregrines, and to everyone else, have a nice long weekend, despite the weather.
