The Peregrine Chick:

--- Quote from: des on May 31, 2009, 16:18 ---Does anyone know what types of birds the peregrines have been eating?  Also where do they take the remains of the food birds?

Anything/everything pigeon-size to small duck size.  At the moment it appears to be a mix of shorebirds (sora rails) and pigeons, though I might have seen a flicker in there this morning.  Unfortunately for identification purposes, the meals arrived mostly "prepared" i.e., head off, most of the feathers gone, wings gone, legs still on these days so don't mistake them for tails folks!  I refer to pigeons as flying Kraft Dinner, easy to "make" and the kids will eat it.  But the adults actually prefer not eat anything but pigeon - shorebirds are big at the moment ...

Something is getting Prncess'es attention.  (I think this is Princess on the chicks).  She keeps looking around and up.  I just love watching them.  They are the cutest falcons.

maggieblue:
And so just so that Princess and Trey don't think that I am ignoring them, a beautifull scene of Princess withe chicks peeking out from underneath her.  ;D
