Doesn't appear to be the case but we do take great care to be sure that the bands go on are the right size for the bird in question. And the bands aren't snug when they are attached, they all can spin around quite freely, they would have to grow a great deal ! And a range in size has been considered/accounted for in the band size for peregrines - some birds are more gracile than others, some more compact and the bands have to accommodate that fact since these are the same bands used by everyone in North America when banding peregrines - its a set size & numbering. If you watch the males & female at the Radisson when they are together on the vent (and I'm zoomed in), you can see the difference in the size of their feet, its quite marked ...

Haven't heard anything recently, thanks for asking though! ;)
--- Quote from: allikat on July 01, 2009, 20:06 ---Wonderful explanation TPC..., has this been happening with other peregines? Does this mean anything....ie: environmental issues?
--- End quote ---
Have no idea, would probably take a few years to get some data that is more than anecdotal.
