Ah, there she is, out of the shadows briefly -- now she's settled back into the shade of the ledge, but at least she's slightly more visible which is a big plus for us worriers!

Okay I am going to say this with the risk of being stoned by phanatics but I think this ledge is a great place for them to be raised! okay my reason is I believe this is an easier ledge for them to get back and forth to after fledging then the west nest would be. If I remember correctly when the birds fledged from west nest they never returned where we could see them again. Correct me if I am wrong TPC.

...i don't see sis...is she snoozing in the shadows?

Yes I see her moving a little.

...sorry, it's these ancient eyes of mine...i really don't think she's ready to fledge quite yet, but i couldn't be sure...

And on this tour we are looking at the "lattice" on the Paris Building ... one of the males is hiding out begind the lattice and has been popping up his head periodically according to our Fledge Watch Ground Forces ... Apparently Trey came to sit on that corner when he spotted the chick sitting there ... now Trey has moved along so all appears to be well ...

Weird unless the timing is off a bit - one falcon had been on top of the Kensington for ages(still there at 8:15) and just around 8:00 maybe a little after, an adult falcon was chowing down on the dome nearby
Must synchronize watches!

May depend on your angle, it is surprising what a few feet left or right, up or down can do to/for your sight lines ...
This will probably happen on and off all day, well heck, for the next few days ...  ;)

Once the fledglings have made their first couple of flights (like the 2 brothers now) is the danger greatly reduced or does it take a few weeks to really be sure they're as safe as the adults?

Oops - sorry - nap time for me I think - I'm confusing forum time with Winnipeg time - so much for getting up at 4:15!

Okay, doing a tour to see who I can see ...

0900 hrs - northwest corner of the Paris Building - Trey preening in the sun - look for dark grey/black with white to identify adults from chicks - chicks are gold and brown.

0908 hrs - spoke with Kinderchick who is on fledge watch right now and she reports that one of the brothers is on the Paris building behind what we are calling "the lattice" - that's the stone architectural work right at the top, looks like cake icing made of rock and when you are on the street, it seems like you should be able to see through it like lattice work ...

not sure where other brother is, but I can only see the east side with the cam and it looks like everyone is settling down for naps so we may not see number 2 son for a bit ... or we may in the next minute !!

Will keep you all updated on reports for ground forces of Fledge Watch 2009!

as of 5 minutes ago, 3 in the ledge, one on Kensington Bldg, one on Vital Stats dome.
Trey ( I'm pretty sure) had food when he got to the dome around 8:00 and spent 5 -10 minutes eating.  It was great to be down there chatting with other Phanatics and watching the falcons.  There will be a longish time with no movement then one or two circling round.  Lots of sounds from them. Saw 2 landings on the Radisson wall (yes, wall, yikes). When I left at 8:15, Princess was still on the top right of the super tall building (Kensington?) diagonally across from nest - she'd been there for ages, and Trey was finished eating on the dome and moving around on it.
All totally awesome!
