She said they are pretty big and her description reminder me of the Cooper's I saw a few times this spring. I referred her to Dennis's pictures and the "all about birds" website.

Those other falcons are probably Merlins,I've been watching a family nesting in a spruce.  They are quite common in Transcona.

That's interesting. One of the nurses I work with was telling me the same thing. She lives close to the U of M. I told her about some other birds that resemble Peregrines so she was going to look them up. I don't know if she ever ID'd the birds she was seeing. Isn't it neat how quickly people become interested when you tell them about the Peregrine family and the forum?

Worked for me too, Sami. The sunburn I mean. Although now it's the peeling that is catching everyone's attention.
I'm up for Brandon. Who else? Can't get enough of those fledglings it seems!

Feeling a bit let-down now - what are we going to do for excitement if not running around the streets? Though my hip is quite happy that I'm not. Just the occasional twinge now. Maybe we could get a busload  (nothing like being optomistic (sp?)) of fledge watchers together to go help Bev.
Last evening I was with a group of fellow stitchers at a local needlework store who were asking about my sunburn. i had to tell them all about the peregrines and the fledge. They were quite interested, had seen some in the paper but didn't know that much about it. One stated therre were lots of falcons in the city, they had them around the university. Have no idea what birds she was talking about, but sure they weren't peregrines. however, maybe we will have some more people join us on the forum. New way to advertise - sunburn!

Wandered around Portage/MTS/Radisson for a bit before finding them in 'THE' parking lot behind the Regis Hotel, which is a SUPER location to view!! - Open, sheltered from the wind, quiet, you can see ALL around you.  ;D - I didn't get to see a feeding like I wanted, :-\..  No tag either  :-\- but saw Princess on the Radisson sign, Trey on the 'J' , Vesper squawking & gliding around before ending up on a Radisson window ledge where we lost her. One of the boys circled over us a few times too, giving us a great view. bccs thought it was Tupper. ...or was it Ty?  ??? :P - anyway, a bit quiet during my time there but I'm sure it'll pick up later. The kids are flying Sooooooo well!!!....Anyone going out - sunscreen needed if you burn easily!!  8)

Went by this afternoon as well around 1:30, with my family in tow.  We also wanderer around before spotting them in the parking lot.  As you say, it's a great spot to watch the birds!
And lucky us, Tracy was among the group watching them.  As Allikat has mentioned if you get the chance to talk to Tracy she is wonderful to chat to.  Lots of fascinating stories and information.   Thanks Tracy! :D

She really is a font of information!  Not sure where she stores it all, but love to hear about it.
