1231 hrs - Princess was on the Radisson sign in one of her usual spots (on the slash under the "n") Ivy was on the nestledge swivelling & looking up.  She bolted from the sign, he disappeared from the ledge.

1329 hrs - someone is on the nestledg, not sure but could be Ivy.  The wind is moving the cam too much for me to see very clearly, but can't tell if its Princess from her "crown" which I usually can when she's on the ledge.  And this bird keeps swivelling ... very Ivy-like.

Saw one birdie fly in from the north, swoop around the Radisson to the west and kept on going.
Can't say for sure, but she was yelling her head off the whole time.
( Pam and I are skillful hunters, the spycam will have difficulty finding us.) ;D

1310 hrs - Ivy killed something pigeon-like, brought it back to the sign, munched on it for about 2 minutes, then picked up the rest and was looking around at someone and flew off with it.  One minute later, he is back sans his meal.  Someone just got a free lunch, but don't know where he handed it off and I've checked all the rooftops I can see and I can't see who he gave it to ...

webcaptures posted later ...

1215 hrs - Little boy (Ivy) has finally found a spot on the sign where he doesn't get blown off - happened to him 4-5 times yesterday (and there really wasn't that much wind), has happened to him 2-3 times this morning.  He is now on top of the first "s" so the "i" (with its dot) helps to provide him with a bit of a wind-break.  He's preening again, he does think he's a pretty little boy  ::)

The "else" could be Jules or Trey or someone new passing through.

Keep in mind that these birds have really good eyesight, from the easternmost edge of the West Winnipeg territory, you can see the Radisson - and with a spotting scope you can see birds flying around the Radisson.  If we can see that then so too can the peregrines.  So if Jules knows Ivy is back (maybe she does, maybe she doesn't) she could conceivable come downtown to investigate.  The last time he pulled this visiting-with-Mom thingy, it was the first year that Jules and he were a "pair" even though they didn't nest out west.  To be clear, I haven't seen Jules downtown, its just a possibility.

As for Trey, haven't seen him yet as everyone knows.

As for someone new, peregrines pass this way alot in the spring, if Trey doesn't return and Princess won't mate with Ivy and Princess manages to hold the territory (male-female fights aren't common, combat tends to be gender specific), a new male passing through may be exactly what Princess will be looking for ...

We will just have to wait to see what (or if) the "else" ends up being!

1120 hrs - Ivy is back on the sign, in Princess' usual spot on the top of the "n" (cheeky little boy).  He's swivelling and looking up-down-around constantly.  Can't see anyone else around so not sure what his deal is, hopefully it will just be too much work for him and he'll head back out west.

The wind is really picking up downtown, the camera has an almost constant jitterbug thingy going on, not sure I'll get more webcaptues today, but I'll try.  Apologies to those looking for the images from yesterday, got caught up on something else last night!  Will post them as soon as I can.

0945 hrs - Ivy (confirmed by band) was on the Radisson sign preening and swivelling.  Couldn't see Princess, or any other birds (Trey or Jules) within the cam-zone.

Haven't seen Princess on the JR sign for a couple of days, could just be my timing with the cam, but she certainly is not in her usual places - including the Sterling building, the Radisson sign or the nestledge - nearly as often as she usually is at this time of year.
