Coming home from work a half hour ago, I got caught squinting through the walkway at the MTS Centre by a young couple.  I looked a little odd I suppose looking at the Hydro Building, but thankfully there was a parent sitting on the Logo of the Manitoba Hydro ... so i just looked at them, pointed and said .. birds.

The I told the guy it was a peregrine falcon and pointed to the logo.  He was very excited to hear about the peregrines in downtown Winnipeg.  Younger fella, not from Winnipeg originally but he said he had presented a paper, not wrote it, on Peregrines.  He was looking forward to telling his "bird friends" who he thinks must already know.

As we were talking the Parent flew off the logo and headed north.

The Peregrine Chick:
1133 hrs (local) - both adults now on the sign, juvenile still on ledge.  Princess is on the "m" (for mummy perhaps?) and Ivy on the "i" (wherelse would he be  ::))

The Peregrine Chick:
1130 hrs (local) - one bird on the east-side sign on the Hydro Building.  Wind is up and it maybe that this location is not only in the sun but out of the wind some ... too much wind to do anything but say its one of the adults by the white on its breast

Ooops, second bird on the ledge below and to the south of the east-side Hydro sign.  Third bird even further south along this same ledge

By colour (keep in mind that the zoom sucks in the wind) its Ivy on the ledge, and Princess on the sign (by size) and juvenile on the ledge furthest to the south.  Given that all of our birds at the Radisson were close in size relatively speaking, I'm can't even guess who the juvenile might be ...

I was walking throught the walkway at the MTS Centre this morning and saw 2 birds flying off the Rogers sign.  I saw one of them go on the Manitoba Hydro sign, but lost sight of the other.  The one on the hydro sign looked to have a nice white chest so .. either Mom or Dad.  It was nice to see them for a change, I hadn't had much luck lately
