Where does the time go. Banding already.

hmmm, when the light goes down in the nestbox the phanatics get a little squirrelly ....

BOT one of the adults is parked on the corner of the nestbox - you can see hte outline and the reflecte light from below is lighting up his/her breast some (they are facing inwards).  Looking at the size of the outline on the skycam, pretty sure it's Princess.  Looks like he does most of the edge sitting during the day, she does it at night.

First feeding will probably be around 0200 hrs (local) or those of you who can't sleep

Thanks for the screen shots everyone!  I can't watch the chicks while at work either (I get the feed, but I usually have my hands full with a classroom full of kids...) so by the time I get home its usually past bedtime.

Wow! Banding next week already! Can hardly believe it!

We will be banding the chicks on June 16th - probably in the afternoon.  Will post time as soon as we have it finalized.  And yes, we are working on making sure that there is a video of the banding.  We plan to put coloured tape on the FWS band so it will make it easier to tell who's who once they are back in the box.

They mentioned the Falcom Cam on the CBC news (aprox 6:12) and showed one of the little ones with his/her face in the camera.

Everyone seems to be having a nap while parent is up on the edge of the nest.

The forecast is for rain all day tomorrow.  Wonder if that means that there will be hourly meals this evening...looks like some clouds are building up already

We seem to have chicks spread out in separate corners - looks like they are seeking out shaded areas. . . ah the luxuries of nesting on the west.  If you are from outside Winnipeg - it's a lovely day here. Right now it's 25 with a south breeze of 19km.

There was a meal served about 5:15ish.

Great pcitures and captions everyone. they are motoring now. Funny how they look so small the further away they are.
