The Peregrine Chick:
1225 hrs (local) - our adventurous white male decided he didn't like being on his own and has made his way back down to the nestbox and is now lying down, out of the wind (smart chick) on the ledge right beside the nestbox. I have no doubt that he will jump back in when the wind dies down or if he's hungry when the adults return with a meal ....

I did see those 3 "feather dusters" up close to the camera earlier this morning. Very funny! ;D And great photo you've posted, rcf. :D I wonder if Eye-Spy is going to switch to the sky cam, when they're all (or most) out on the ledge? ???

Forty days is the date I usually watch for fledging and with two males, yup, fledge could be anytime. Hopefully they will wait for lighter winds like their cousins did last year ... it will make it easier for everyone - people and peregrines alike!

The Peregrine Chick:
I've got the skycam looking down on white male on the ledge - he's tucked into the corner right in front of the camera, not on the edge of the ledge so not sure he's quite ready to go yet. This is the male who was the first chick to venture out from inside the nestbox, he's the one who can usually be found sitting in one of the front corners looking out, he was the first to get up on the edge of the nestbox and he's the one who has been looking at this ledge for a few days now. I think this little charmer is our great adventurer - first to try everything. He's seems to be a pretty smart little chick, he hasn't so far taken any chances, even when his big siste was chewing on his toes yesterday as he sat on the box edge. He'll be fine in the corner, it's shady there until the sun is full on the ledge at which point the opposite end of the ledge where the nestbox is starts to get more shade, so we may see him head back later in the afternoon.
