This nest on a power plant was originally installed for peregrines, but was claimed by a pair of Great Horned Owls some years ago. The owls here are Snowflake and Dan. They have been visiting the nest from time to time, usually at night.
Earlier this year, they had eggs, but part way into incubation Snowflake abandoned her eggs. Crows had been harassing the pair, and this may possibly have been the reason. Two years earlier, they had also abandoned their eggs, but that year they laid a second clutch of two eggs, and raised two owlets. This year they did not reclutch.
