Well today is banding day for us, I got a good nights sleep and I'm a bundle of nerves this morning!
Today will be a bit different than normal ceremonies as the Ontario Minister of the Environment will be present so there will be a speech...one of my coworkers is bringing his camera for me so I will get as many photos as I can once the heart attack is over ;D
The Peregrine Chick:
Ha, finally get to say it first .... boys, bah, boys :P (except for Trey of course ;))
carly:
Heh..I'd be over the moon if they are boys, we need more boys :-*
The Peregrine Chick:
--- Quote from: carly on May 25, 2009, 06:42 ---So the web cam online crapped out over the weekend and I didn't see the girls til this morning. Now I'm nervous, tomorrow is banding day...they will be one month old and they are darker than I'd expect them to be at banding time!! The two I saw in cam range this morning have black wings with greyish down tufts on them....they were more white last year at this time. Underbellies still white though of course but wings....wow
--- End quote ---
Don't be too surprised if your "girls" are in fact "boys". Females don't fly until at least a week after the males (all things being equal) and have lots of white "fluff" on them well past the end of the first month.
